Creamy Lemon & Herb Tagliatelle with Crispy Bacon

200 g

Eskort Bacon Cutts

400 g



red onion, thinly sliced

5 g

fresh thyme, chopped

5 g

fresh sage, chopped

5 g

fresh basil, torn


lemon, zest and juice

500 ml (2 C)

fresh cream


salt and pepper, for seasoning

45 ml (3 T)

olive oil



  • Boil a pot of water over moderate heat, add salt and the pasta and cook for 10 min until al dente.

Creamy Lemon and Herb Sauce with Crispy Bacon

  • While the pasta is cooking, heat a large frying pan over a moderate heat.

  • Add 3 tablespoons of olive oil to the pan and fry the red onion until soft and glossy.

  • Add the bacon and herbs, and fry until the bacon is brown and crispy.

  • Add the cream, lemon juice and zest, then reduce to a low heat and allow to simmer.

  • Once the pasta is al dente, remove ½ cup of the starchy pasta water and mix it into the sauce.

  • Remove the pasta from the water and add it directly to the sauce.

  • Mix well until all the pasta is coated with the creamy sauce.


  • Plate a portion of the pasta and top with fresh herbs, salt and pepper and a lemon wedge.


  • Serve fresh crusty bread, olive oil and salt as an accompaniment.
