Sausages & 3 Cheese Lasagna

We won’t bore you with a cheesy line here, ‘cause this Lasagna is cheesy enough already! The whole family’s gonna love this #JustDelicious Sausage & 3 Cheese Lasagna.

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

 

375 g

Eskort Gold Medal Pork Sausages

1 packet

lasagne sheets

45 ml

olive oil

4 cloves

garlic, minced

2 cans

chopped tomatoes

10 ml

Italian herbs

 

salt and ground black pepper

60 g

Parmesan cheese, grated

200 g

mozzarella, grated

150 g

cheddar cheese, grated

30 g

butter, melted

 

fresh basil, finely sliced

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.

  • Heat a 15 ml of olive oil in a frying pan and fry pork sausages until lightly golden.

  • Remove sausages and set aside.

  • In the same pan, fry the garlic for 3 minutes then add the chopped tomatoes and Italian herbs.

  • Slice sausages into coins and return to the pan with the garlic and tomatoes, season lightly with salt and pepper and cook until sauce has reduced (about 10 minutes).

  • Arrange a single layer of lasagne sheets into an ovenproof baking dish, top with a layer of the tomato and sausage sauce.

  • Sprinkle with a 1/3 of the Parmesan, mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

  • Repeat the process until all the tomato and sausage sauce is used up.

  • Finish with a layer of lasagne sheets, brush the sheets with the melted butter and top with a final layer of Parmesan, mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

  • Bake lasagne in oven for 20 minutes until sauce starts bubbling and cheese has melted.

  • Turn oven heat up to 230°C and bake for another 5 - 10 minutes until cheese has browned.

  • Serve warm with a sprinkling of sliced basil and a side salad of your choice.
