400 g

Eskort Rindless Streaky Bacon

30 ml

Maple syrup

15 ml

olive oil

60 ml

brown sugar

2 ml


2 ml

cayenne pepper


  • Pre-heat oven to 200°C and line an oven baking tray with foil.

  • In a bowl, mix together the maple syrup, olive oil, brown sugar, salt and cayenne pepper, mix well.

  • Microwave the mixture for 20-30 seconds, remove from microwave and mix again.

  • Place the bacon onto the oven tray (it’s ok if they overlap slightly as they’ll shrink a little while cooking) and brush each strip with the maple syrup mixture.

  • Place the oven tray in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, remove from the oven and flip the bacon, brush with the maple syrup mixture again and return to the oven for a further 15 minutes until bacon is crispy and golden but not burnt and hard.

  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes, don’t let them sit for too long or they’ll stick to the foil.

  • Once cool enough to handle, remove from baking tray and serve at room temperature.

  • You can cut each bacon strip in half to serve.
