800 g

pork fillet (or loin), chopped

750 ml




170 ml

hot water

85 ml

cold water

30 ml

olive oil

15 ml

ginger, crushed

250 ml

walnuts, crushed

375 ml

shitake mushrooms, chopped

250 ml

beetroot, julienned

30 ml

dark soy sauce

375 ml

shredded cabbage


  1. Mix the flour with the salt and hot water. Add the cold water and knead into a dough ball. Cover with a damp cloth and leave to rise for an hour.

  2. In a pan, fry the chopped pork, adding the salt and ginger. Next add the walnuts, mushrooms, beetroot, soy sauce and cabbage. Leave to simmer for 10 minutes.

  3. Now take the dough and divide into balls, 2 - 3 cm in diameter and flatten into circles.

  4. Take each circle in the palm of your hand and spoon some of the filling into it and fold over, pinching the edges until sealed. Repeat until you have finished your dough.

  5. In a deep frying pan, heat some olive oil and place the dumplings into the pan. After about 5 minutes of frying, add a cup of water and cover the pan so that the dumplings can steam. This should take about 10 minutes.

  6. Serve while hot with some sweet plum sauce or soy sauce on the side!
